Life
Okay...
Summer of 2009, I resigned from my company (civil engineering) and sold my 25% ownership back to the 3 remaining owners. I decided that it was more important for me to be a mom full time then some-of-the-time. I am very satisfied with my decision.
My daughter, Crista will be 15 years old this summer and will be a freshman in high school. I STILL can't believe that! She is a sweet and kind-hearted person and I really enjoy hanging out with her. This is my first summer ever, since I have had kids, that I have not worked, so I get to spend alot of time with them. Crista is a swimmer and raises, shows and sells 4H lambs.
My oldest son, John is 11 years old and will be in 6th grade which is middle school. Again, just amazing at how fast they grow up. He is a skinny kid with blond hair and blue/green eyes. He has a very gentle heart and extremely ACTIVE lifestyle. He loves any sport that has a ball involved. He also raises, shows and sells 4H lambs.
My youngest son, Garrett is 8 years old and will be in 3rd grade. He will be able to do the sheep next summer in 4H. He is my baby but he does not like it when I say this... so don't tell him. ;-) He is my debater. He will debate and counter argue anything and everything and he is also certain that he NEVER gets to do anything and his brother and sister ALWAYS get to do everything. gest in my family I totally get where he is coming from. Garrett loves to swim and play any sport that involves a ball. He is also very active and the two boys together exhaust me some days.
I have been married to Brett for the past 19 years. We live on his family's farm (his great grandfather homesteaded here in 1917). Brett and his brother run the farm and have 4 hired men. They farm about 1200 acres growing sugar beets, malt barley, forage corn, beans, alfalfa seed, alfalfa hay, and some wheat. Of course, this keeps Brett working 7 days a week for however many hours each day to get the job done. This was another reason I resigned since Brett cannot be home very often, I felt it was important to be home for my kids. We love living here and my kids are growing up in a very unique environment.
We have bunches of animals (Brett would prefer only 1 dog but he loves us and humors me with my "finds"). We have 2 horses, 3 ewe sheep, 1 whether sheep (he is a pet and I couldn't send him to slaughter), 4 baby lambs (Crista & John's), 3 cats, 3 dogs, 1 fish, also had two lizards in a box filled with sand in my living room for a couple of months this spring but I finally convinced Garrett to let them go. We also have an occassional baby cottontail rabbit when they get taken from their mother by our dogs - Garrett rescues them. And I absolutely love living in a town of 5,000 people!
